Free images/clipart for use in logos

Where can I find and/or tell if an image/clip art is free for use for creating a logo, using in a website etc. I have looked online but the licenses do not allow use to create logos.

Not only is it illegal to steal clipart, but, it's also illegal to steal designs.

Going to a clip art site that you aren't a member of, downloading the preview and modifying it to try to remove the watermark is copyright violation.

It is also a copyright violation to steal someone's elses design or duplicate it.

I really didn't appreciate the fact you stole my design after agreeing to pay me for it.

It was also an insult to ask me to donate it to a project you are working on and getting paid for.

I really wouldn't expect too much help here after what you did.
