canvas dimensions in proportion to inches

Hello. What dimensions would I have to set my canvas to so that i can export a 4 in. x 6 in. jpeg image to a print shop? I'm new to this and I'm going nuts tryng to find some kind of table so that i can set my canvas to the right size to export it in the right size. Help!

I think it is 1200 pixels (4inch) x 1800 pixels (6inch) that is at 300dpi, 600 pixels x 900 pixels for 150 dpi. It depends on what you want your dpi setting to be at

Logo Creator isn't displaying the design at 1200 x 1800. it stops at 800 x 600. Does that Have to do with my VGA display settings? I can't change my settings on my monitor without them looking like a broken television. Do I have to export this to a printshop and change the dimensions there?
