Ok you super coders..

how do you make image backgrounds in you logo transparent? The image is imported..is this possible?

I have a laurel which I have imported and dropped letters I need in as attached but I find that the black background is not helpful and really need a transparent gif.

And how do you switch the laurel and letters to black rather than white if possible?

I suggest using an photo editor and crop as close to your image as possible...and try working with a negative of the image.
