:( The need for better handlig of the export resolution by TLC is urgently required. The 'workaround' by BlueJade in an earlier post entiled 'What's The Resolution,' is both cumbersome and unacceptable.

If I wanted to increase the resolution to 300, the post said, I would need to enlarge the canvas by a factor of 300 per inch. To have a 3.5" exported at a 300 resolution, I would need to enlarge the canvas to 1050 x 1050 pixels. :17:

You would need to change the resolution of your desctop to 1600 x 1200 (use a magnifier to see your desctop items.)

So again, I hope Mark Sylvester takes this post to heart and will - hopefully soon - find a way to resolve this issue in an elegant matter.

Hi eikel.
there may, in fact, be a way to accomplish this. I've been playing around with the idea.

I can make a seperate app that will convert an imported "72dpi" image and change it (with the push of a button) to 300dpi.

The older versions of TLC did have the ability to export at true 300dpi. The final image was small - business card size at most - but it was doable.

The only reason we didn't include this 300dpi export for this app was because the function of the "C+" code wasn't Windows XP compatible or Mac OSX compatible.

however, if I make a separate "converter application" - it'll be a freebie and you'll have to deal with the lack of XP or OSX support :)

I can also create the app to export in a dozen other formats as well.

Hmmmm....
Time to pull out the ol' drawin' board again. :35:

... and by the way - sounds like you know a bit about dpi and such. You must have Photoshop or some other image editor like PaintShop pro laying around.

If so, keep in mind ... The Logo Creator isn't meant to replace these fine apps. It's meant to enhance them. If you can't do something in TLC (like export at 300dpi)... bring your final logo creation into Photoshop and manipulate it further for that oh-so-perfect look!

Hi There,

Eikeldesign's request is different than exporting to 300dpi. Eikeldesign wants a non-1:1 ratio between the canvas working area and the canvas Window. This would enable a smaller canvas window to work on larger images to be printed at 288dpi (72 * 4 = 288).

Yes, I do have PaintShop Pro and usually I use this to enhance my designs.
