I have had Logo Creator since July which I had purchased from a retail store. I have had no issues until today when I decided to check to see if there was an update.

I don't believe that I have ever checked it before. Well I first encountered and error with this url in the error box...http://www.thelogocreator.com/auto_updates/MacXware_TLC_3_3/Resources/interface/backgrounds.cxt

then the free 3.6 upgrade is there so I decide to do that update... now it's asking for a key which I don't know how to get.

The other issue is an error: Director Player Error; script member not found; bluejadelist.class.

I have deleted the installation and started all over again. I even downloaded the demo to 3.5 to 3.6 ... nothing is working.

okay review:
key issue
errors with download

System Mac OSX

Any help would be appreciated!!!

Thanks,
Donna Lynn :spaz:

The retail version and the update or DR downloads don't always play nice together. You will first need to uninstall TLC, then get the demo from http://www.thelogocreator.com/demo.php for your OS .After you can reinstall the retail version. For reasons not understood by me it does seem to matter in which order things are done and backwards from one would expect.... One way there are conflicts and the other there are not... :00

See if this doesn't sound familiar...

Hi there,

We just got the boxed version from MacXware and were getting the same problems as the initial entry, update file not found and key required on 3.6 update install.

Tried Katie's suggestion, removed TLC, installed demo 3.5, then installed 3.5 boxed CD version. Now shows Director script errors all the time and does not work correctly at all now, no menus!! This is getting pretty fustrating now.

Any HELP appreciated!!!

TLC is based around he lastest macromedia player and you may need to update yours. It has been reported that some have had problems persist until after a cold reboot.

Watch for PM from me. :)

I have the exact same trouble as the original poster. How can I upgrade LogoCreator to the latest version? Thanks in advance for the info.

I just downloaded the upgrade to 3.6 from 3.5 after asking about it last night. It allows me to begin creating a logo. I was able to set the background color and then import an image (on a blank logo - no template). Then when I try to add text it gives me an error message. Help! I'm right in the middle of creating logos for a colleague. :17:

I just discovered it won't let me open any of my logo libraries. I get the error message on that as well. Let me know if it would be helpful to include the error message.

perfectjewel, the more information you give the better and sooner a solution can be gotten to. Error code? What is your OS? Are you one with mixed retail and download versions? Did you use the link from Marc's announcement ( http://www.logodesignforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1605 ) or update through the TLC program?

Are you seeing an icon that says TLC 3.6 or 3.6.1 for Windows?

Try a cold reboot.( My new icon didn't show up until after a cold reboot and the old icon launched TLC where I got error messages). To launch your work in progress try clicking on File then on open logo.

Be sure and send Marc (laughingbird) a PM as well.

Hi Ron, PerfectJewel, Vic and Converg...
Geez! What a mess huh?

I'm truly sorry for these update hassles!
Katie, thanks for trying to put out all of the fires!

There seems to be quite a few versions of The Logo Creator flying around out there. There's the MacXware (Retail version for Mac OSX), the SummitSoft version (Retail version for Windows) and my versions (the online-only from Laughingbird Software versions.

All of them, unfortunatly due to licensing issues, contain a few different components. Creating one upgrade is proving difficult.

This is one reason I've been out of the forum this week, I've been working on some upgrades that will take care of everybody in one fell swoop!

Check out a PM from me for all of you reading this here.

If any future readers are having troubles, email me here:
upgrade_issues@thelogocreator.com

I've flagged that mailbox for instant notification.

My OS is XP and I downloaded the software and three of the logo libraries. I bought the expansion pack and one other when I came upon them quite awhile ago. Never had an issue with any of it.

I downloaded from Marc's announcement and the icon said 3.6, but when it was downloading it said 3.6.1

I will try a cold reboot later. I did try to launch my work in progress by clicking on file and "open logo." It won't work.

I did send Marc an email at the address he put in here.

I hope I can get it to work. I want to finish this project before Christmas.

Thanks for your help.

what error code?

The message I get is "The Logo Creator has encountered a problem and needs to close. We're sorry for the inconvenience.

Error signature
AppName the logo creator v361.exe AppVer. 3.6.1.0 ModName: dirapi.dll
ModVer: 10.1.0.11 Offset: 000a461b

If I click on the technical information I get:

Image Base: 0x20000000 Image Size: 0x00000000

There is much more data that comes up, none of which I understand. It also asks if I want to debug.

I also have no idea why the sytem information says Windows NT

I don't know if any of this is helpful. What else can I do to fix the problem?

Just wanted to let you know that I reinstalled the upgrade, and although still a little bit buggy, I can open and design my logos again.

I love the ability to add a photo to the text. :57:
