According to the Paragraph 4 of the EULA at clipart.com (http://www.clipart.com/en/company/licensing)

You may NOT :NoNo:
distribute the Content, electronically or in hard copy, except as specifically authorized under paragraph 3 above;
authorize any third party to use the Content for any purpose or resell, sublicense, or otherwise make available the Content for use or distribution separately or detached from a product or Web page;
share Content across a network, on a CD, or in any other way;
under any circumstances, use automated or programmatic means or methods to download Content;
use Content in any logo or part of any trademark;
use Content in any downloadable format intended for multiple distribution including, without limitation, Web site templates, software products, e-greetings, etc. You may contact templatelicense@jupiterimages.com to find out about a special license for such use;
under any circumstances, use Content in connection with any ****ographic, obscene, immoral, or illegal materials.

Does anybody else see a problem here? Unless I am reading this wrong, the only thing you can use clipart.com images for is refrigerator art! Certainly not with The Logo Creator.

I'm so confused. :confused:

Confusing...only slightly...what I find bizarre is the fact that many,many of the images that are available on clipart.com are also in assorted Microsoft publishing programs and on the Microsoft website... :00 and have different rules of use.

There is always www.gifart.com , it is cheaper for 1 year and has more lienient rules.

Thank for the pointer, gifart.com looks much more usable.

Anybody else have an opinion on image sources?

Hi BD.

yes, I've had this brought up to me in the past.
I'm in the process of talking to the ClipArt.com folks. (I've met the previous owners at a software developers conference last year - but they've since been bought out. January I belive. The same company that has purchased Clipart.com has also purchased Aladdin Systems (http://www.aladdinsys.com) ! The creators of Stuffit Expander and a ton of other nice tools.

In the meantime, hop over to http://www.hemera.com instead. They've got a much better choice including 'PhotoObjects'. PhotoObjects are "real" clip art items (real photos of items) with no backgrounds. I've met with Hemera personally (last week in fact) and we'll be doing some product cross overs soon :D
